Question
Hey Joe, Thank you first of all for your site. It pulled me out of an autoimmune condition a whole host of doctors couldn't seem to get a handle on. I recently created a new problem for myself taking high doses of natural progesterone cream for a week in a misguided attempt to escape some PTSD. It controlled my adrenaline but it's now been a month and a half and i still feel very depressed and low affect. If you have any suggestions whatsoever to lower my progesterone or reverse this issue they'd be much appreciated.
Looking for best testing for 36 yo firefighter with sudden onset hypertensive, hives with the start of 3 antihypertensives, sudden increase lipids, triglycerides ok. What do you think about controlling uric acid as an antihypertensive modality?
Hi Joe - I tried ratcheting up to high dose herbs (curcumin - 10 gms, licorice 5 gms, paltycodon 5 gms (his discovery for herpes), simhanada guggulu - 10 gms) on advice of a top ayurvedic herbalist in the country to deal with autoimmune issues (negative RF, neg. anti-ccp, and neg. hla-b27 sponylo arthropathy but homozygous c677t fyi). After about 3 weeks, instead of getting better I developed episcleritis, septal panniculitis (erythema nodosum) and was sick with fever for a week. After treatment by opthamologist, eye and skin by itself started to clear over several months. Any ideas why this could have happened after high dose anti-inflammatory herbs? Then 3 weeks ago had diarrhea slowly clearing, and episode blood and pus, and abdominal and back pain which no reason was discovered for by ct scan and colonoscopy. During diarrhea recovery phase I submitted a doctors data stool test which showed no bad bacteria and absorbtion issues but many microscopic yeast (not cultured yeast), secretory IgA 784 (51-204mg/dl), lactoferrin 19.6 (<7.3 ug/ml), calprotectin 112 (ug/g < 50), but lysozyme ok 403 (< 600 ng/ml). Do I now have IBD in addition and is that causing the autoimmune symptoms and what should I do? Take a biologic? Oh, thank you.
Hi Joe, I recently listened to a podcast in regards to the use of BHT (butylated hydroxytoluene) as an inexpensive way to treat cold sores. Do you have any data on this? Should I use daily or just when I feel a cold sore coming on.
Hi Joe, I had a thyroidectomy due to thyroid cancer 2 years ago. Recently I noticed some white blotchy spots on my skin. Through a few google searches, I noticed that Vitiligo can be caused by Thyroid issues. I went to the dermatologist who looked at my skin through a UV light and she feels it is not Vitiligo as the spots did not light up under the light. For now, we are treating as Tinea Versicolor. I reached out to my thyroid cancer facebook group to see if any others had similar experiences and was quickly bombarded by a bunch of users also having white blotchy spots on their skin post thyroidectomy. Do you have any data on the correlation to this? Do you have any suggestions for treatment or supplements that may help? I currently do Red Light treatment every day through my Joov light. Not sure if that has any effect on the discoloration of my skin.
Hi Joe - On selfdecode it mentions I should supplement with Myo-inositol for my mood. I ordered some from Amazon but noticed that it's primarily for women. Should I be concerned about taking a supplement that's intended for women? If I am supposed to be taking it what dosage do you recommend?
